I feel overwhelmed with my business admin - what should I actually do first?
You sit down to start work, open your laptop and immediately there’s 50 tabs staring at you, yesterday’s half finished blog post and 5 half written emails sat in your drafts.
Should you post on Instagram? Update Pinterest? Write on your blog?
When everything feels urgent, sometimes it is hard to know where to start. You’ve been posting on social media and getting some great enquiries but it feels hard to keep that ball rolling. Maybe your website is looking a bit old and doesn’t reflect what you’ve got to offer these days?
Or maybe you busy with clients most of the day and you’re looking to grow your business but nothing is moving forward?
You don’t actually need to do more, you just need to do things in the right order.
What should I actually do first?
Step 1 - Sort out your foundation (your website or landing page)
If you are marketing consistently but sending potential clients to an unfinished or website with old information - you could be missing potential leads.
This is often where I find myself supporting clients, whether that be creating and updating their blog regularly or updating their news page with recent events or offers.
Step 2 - Pick one platform
If you can’t keep up with 3 social media channels - and I get it, it’s a lot! Just pick one and do it well. If your focus is scattered, it can leave you feeling like you’re not getting anywhere.
For example, I support clients with Pinterest which links really nicely to your website blog.
Step 3 - Use a simple content strategy
Repurpose and reuse! Don’t create content from scratch everyday. You could write a blog post which could then be reused as a pin on Pinterest and then repurposed into a carousel on Instagram.
Work smarter not harder.
Your content will never been seen by everyone at one time so repurpose it and get it out there as much as you can. This is where having support with blog posting, Pinterest management, or social scheduling can save hours every week.
Too busy to juggle everything?
